During the summer of 2011, the Mary M. Knight board of directors held a retreat. They revamped some of the ideas behind what our school board should be doing for our school, our community, and our kids. The board members developed the mission, vision and goals, to help make Mary M. Knight into the best school we can be.
Vision: Every child will have the confidence, motivation, and preparation to be a successful participant in family and civic life.
Mission: Our mission is to provide an enriching, positive, challenging and safe environment with support from staff, students, parents, and the community. |

Board Goals for 2011-2012 Academics: 1. Develop, implement, and evaluate a student advisory program utilizing existing staff members for grades 6-12 that is tailored after the "Navigation 101" program, with the purpose of increasing student success. 2. Believing that the ability to read at grade level is key to academic success, purchase and implement the "Read Right" program for grades 3-12. 3. School Climate: Create a district-wide culture and climate that will bring the return of the "family" atmosphere that Mary M. Knight Schools have been noted and praised for in the past. This climate and culture is evidenced by all students and adults continuously helping and supporting each other, and mutual respect is the basis of all interactions.
